Horst et Salvador Dal\u00ed. L\u2019artiste travaille alors au pavillon surr\u00e9aliste\u00a0<em>R\u00eave de V\u00e9nus<\/em>\u00a0pour l\u2019Exposition universelle de New York. Horst fait partie du groupe de photographes charg\u00e9s de photographier des mod\u00e8les nus. L\u2019artiste, qui participe \u00e0 ces s\u00e9ances accompagn\u00e9 de Gala, r\u00e9alise des interventions picturales sur deux tirages photographiques de Horst issus de ces prises de vue et con\u00e7oit les costumes des sir\u00e8nes destin\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019installation. Dans une phase initiale du projet, ces deux images, tir\u00e9es en grand format, \u00e9taient int\u00e9gr\u00e9es \u00e0 la fa\u00e7ade du pavillon.<\/p>\n<p>En septembre, l\u2019article \u00ab Paris Openings. Variety Show \u00bb para\u00eet dans <em>Vogue<\/em>, accompagn\u00e9 d\u2019une photographie de Horst\u00a0: un mannequin y porte une robe noire de Schiaparelli,\u00a0et un grand dessin de Salvador Dal\u00ed,\u00a0<em>Horse and Rider<\/em>\u00a0(1935), figure dans le d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n<p>En octobre, lors de la pr\u00e9sentation du ballet\u00a0<em>Bacchanale<\/em>\u00a0\u00e0 New York, l\u2019\u00e9dition new-yorkaise de <em>Vogue<\/em> publie un article intitul\u00e9 \u00ab Dali\u2019s \u201cVenusberg\u201d ballet \u00bb. La pr\u00e9diction est tr\u00e8s claire : il sera bient\u00f4t appel\u00e9 sous les drapeaux dans l\u2019arm\u00e9e am\u00e9ricaine.
